Join the Million PALA Challenge

palaOne of the ICAA Champions deliverables is encouraging individuals to earn their Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA).

The Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) – PRON. pal-luh – is part of the President’s Challenge Physical Activity and Fitness Awards Program, which is a program of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (PCFSN).

Why join the Million PALA Challenge?

  • PALA is for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities and is a great way to jumpstart or maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • PALA recognizes older adults for following the daily recommended physical activity guidelines

  • Adults who are active 30 minutes per day and youth who are active 60 minutes per day, five days per week, for a period of six out of eight weeks are eligible for this award.

  • Upon completion, participants can earn a certificate of recognition from President Obama.

  • The goal is to encourage one million (or more!) Americans, both youth and adults, to achieve the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award by September 2011.
